I guess this is an issue that will have to continue as whoever squeaks less will be cut more. The reality is however that we have to be almost certain of what areas can be sacrificed to the preservation of what is essential for the patients’ improved outcome with the least expensive approach, and to me the recommendations from the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission sound just fine.
No one wants to look at the real bottom line income, as it is not convenient for specific groups.
