Allina Hospitals and Clinics promotes Bache-Wiig to Abbott Northwestern president
Bache-Wiig, 54, had been Abbott Northwestern's vice president of medical affairs since July 2009. He succeeds Jeff Peterson, who was promoted to the post of executive vice president of Allina's hospital division this year, according to an Allina news release.
Previously, Bache-Wiig practiced at Allina's North Clinic in Robbinsdale, Minn. There, he held the positions of medical director and physician president.
"His values-based leadership style, his advocacy for high-quality patient care, his experience running a large independent physician group and his strong clinical and executive leadership background make him a great fit for president at Abbott Northwestern," Peterson said in the release. "He is well-known and respected for his intelligence, his diplomatic and leadership skills, his relationships with physicians across the system and his unfailing focus on service to patients and families."
