Eight Nashville-area physician practices have agreed to form a new network that will pool clinical data as a way of promoting care collaboration, according to a news release (DOC).
Tenn. docs to form new network, share data
The network will be called Health Innovation Specialists. The data pooling will lead to benchmarks to measure the quality of care provided by the eight practices, according to Dr. Charles Eckstein, chairman of the network.
HIS includes physicians in anesthesiology, general surgery, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, radiology and urology. These physicians practice at most of the hospitals in the Nashville area.
HIS also will look for ways to make the shift from fee-for-service reimbursement to value-based payment methods that reward physicians for high-quality care.
