General Dynamics Corp., a defense contractor based in Falls Church, Va., has completed its $960 million acquisition of Vangent Holding Corp.
General Dynamics completes Vangent buy
Under the terms of the cash deal, health informatics and analytics services provider Vangent, previously majority-owned by private-equity firm Veritas Capital Fund III, becomes part of Fairfax, Va.-based General Dynamics Information Technology, according to a General Dynamics news release. General Dynamics announced in mid-September its plans to acquire Vangent, a vendor for HHS as well as health systems for other federal agencies, including the U.S. Veterans Affairs Department and the military. HHS, the Food and Drug Administration and the VA also hold contracts with General Dynamics Information Technology, according to the release.
