The company said that the deal will enable Cincinnati-based Ethicon Endo-Surgery to expand in a “rapidly growing market segment.”
SterilMed, which is based in Maple Grove, Minn., provides products and services for medical device reprocessing, equipment repair and pre-owned equipment sales. Cleveland-based Primus Capital and Boston-based Great Hill Partners acquired SterilMed in mid-2010.
“Together, we can continue our focus on developing innovative surgical solutions, while providing healthcare facilities a wider range of flexible product options to save money, reduce medical waste, and maintain quality care for patients,” said Karen Licitra, company group chairman and worldwide franchise chairman for Ethicon Endo-Surgery, in the news release.
An Ethicon Endo-Surgery spokesman said that the company expects the deal to close within a few months.
