Dr. Kent Bradley has been hired as the first chief medical officer for Pleasanton, Calif.-based food and drug retailer Safeway.
Safeway names first CMO
Bradley, whose age was not provided, will focus "on further enhancing and building Safeway’s reputation as a healthcare innovator" and will lead employee and consumer wellness and prevention activities and assist with the business initiatives of the company's Safeway Health subsidiary, according to a Safeway news release.
Bradley holds a master's of public health degree and retired with the rank of colonel from the U.S. Army in 2008 after serving as CMO-executive director for Tricare Europe and deputy commander of the 30th Medical Brigade in Iraq.
After leaving the military, Bradley worked as partner with the Alexandria, Va.-based healthcare services consulting firm Martin, Blanck & Associates while earning an MBA.
