Dr. Adam Smith, a bariatric surgeon, was voted president-elect of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, effective immediately.
Osteopathic surgeons group names Smith president-elect
Smith, 51, is scheduled to take over as president in October 2012 from Dr. Eric Goldsmith, according to a college spokeswoman.
Smith is a physician with Fort Worth (Texas) Lap-Band and previously served as secretary-treasurer of the ACOS.
