Providers have launched new advertising aimed at avoiding becoming casualties of the push to lower 10-year federal deficits by at least $1.2 trillion. Those efforts include a combined television and radio ad campaign by the American Health Care Association and the Alliance for Quality Nursing Home Care (above), which will run in 10 states and Washington, D.C., as Congress heads toward a Dec. 23 deadline. The American Hospital Association launched a print ad campaign and plans more advertising warning cuts would hurt job creation. The Association of American Medical Colleges and consumer advocacy groups AARP and Families USA also joined the battle for sympathy. See video and images from them at modernhealthcare.com/ads.
