HCA reshuffles divisions, executives
The company will combine its Midwest and Delta divisions into a new MidAmerica division based in Kansas City, Mo., which was the home of the Midwest division.
Stephen Corbeil, president of the Midwest division since 2007, will become president of HCA's TriStar division, based in Nashville. Corbeil, 51, is replacing Lawrence Kloess III, whose retirement was announced earlier this month. Corbeil worked for Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp. from 2000 to 2007 after working for HCA in Dallas from 1996 to 2000. The TriStar division includes 17 hospitals and nine surgery centers, mostly in Tennessee, with some facilities in Georgia and Kentucky.
Mel Lagarde, president of the Delta division since 1995, will take on the role as president of the MidAmerica division and relocate to Kansas City. The new division includes 18 hospitals and six surgery centers in Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Missouri. Lagarde, 54, has worked for HCA for 32 years.
