Real disease-fighters screen motion-picture portrayal

The movie, which includes a cast of heavy hitters—Academy Award winners Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon and Gwyneth Paltrow and Tony Award winner Laurence Fishburne—focuses on the work of the federal Centers of Disease Control and Prevention and, more specifically, the CDC's Epidemic Intelligence Service.

At a panel discussion about the film recently at Washington's Union Station, I had a chance to interview the CDC's Dr. Anne Schuchat, who is the basis for Kate Winslet's character in the film. In this video clip, Schuchat is sitting in front of movie screen that flashed information about the CDC and quotes from the movie's actors about the movie and the EIS.
