MD On-Line, a provider of electronic data interchange products, has acquired marketing services firm Strategic Edge Communications, according to an MD On-Line news release.

Financial terms of the deal, which is expected to expand MD On-Line's offerings to the pharmaceutical and medical-device industries, are not being disclosed, an MD On-Line spokesperson said.
Parsippany, N.J.-based MD On-Line aims to help providers and payers increase their electronic healthcare transactions. As part of the deal, MD On-Line also will acquire Strategic Edge Communications' affiliates BroadLeaf Creative Group, a creative agency, and Educational Concepts in Medicine, a continuing-medical-education company.
The spokesperson said a joint venture that the two companies entered into in January led to the creation of Instinctive Data, a company that provides education and training to physicians. Strategic Edge Communications is based in Morristown, N.J.
