Lawrence Kloess III announced that he will retire as president of HCA's TriStar division effective Dec. 31, according to a company news release.
Kloess to retire as president of HCA's TriStar division
Kloess, 56, has worked for HCA since 1983, when he took a position as assistant administrator of a hospital in Clearwater, Fla. Kloess has been president of the TriStar division since 2005. The division includes 17 hospitals and nine ambulatory surgery centers, primarily in Tennessee, but the division also includes facilities in Kentucky and Georgia. Kloess also served as president and CEO of HCA's flagship, Centennial Medical Center and Parthenon Pavilion, from 1998 to 2005.
The company is conducting a search for a replacement.
