Chesterfield, Mo.-based Mercy—formerly known as Sisters of Mercy Health System—announced it reached an agreement to acquire ownership of 25-bed Logan Medical Center, Guthrie, Okla., for $7.2 million.
Mo. health system to acquire 25-bed facility
The agreement follows the signing of a nonbinding letter of intent in April and a subsequent due diligence process, according to a news release from 22-hospital Mercy.
Logan's eight physicians are set to join Mercy Clinic, an Oklahoma physician multispecialty group that includes more than 200 providers in 45 locations, according to Mercy.
The deal is expected to close Oct. 1, and at that time the hospital will be renamed Mercy Hospital Logan County. Mercy is changing all of its hospitals' names to begin with Mercy.
