Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, Memphis, Tenn., has acquired three primary-care physician practices, giving the system a total of 10 physician practice acquisitions in 2010 and 2011, according to two news releases.
Methodist Le Bonheur buys three doc practices
Methodist is acquiring Jordan Internal Medicine and Midtown Internal Medicine. Dr. Oakley Jordan formerly was part of Midtown Internal but is now establishing a separate practice, according to a news release. Midtown Internal retains its other two physicians. Both practices are in Memphis.
Separately, Methodist is acquiring McClatchy Medical Center, Olive Branch, Miss., according to a second news release. The practice includes one physician and one family nurse practitioner. Methodist Le Bonheur has a certificate of need to build a 100-bed, $137.1 million hospital in Olive Branch.
The acquisitions are effective Aug. 31.
