Scott & White Healthcare, Temple, Texas, reduced its staff by 75 members and will allow 130 positions to go unfilled through either attrition or elimination of new jobs budgeted for its coming fiscal year.
Scott & White cuts staff
The reductions were made as part of a budgetary review across the system, which employs about 13,000. Most of those changes are in areas unrelated to personnel, such as use of consultants and purchased services, according to a Scott & White news release (DOC).
"If you follow national trends, you're aware that healthcare systems across the country are taking steps to control costs to ensure they have money to spend on providing quality patient care; Scott & White is no exception,” said Dr. Robert Pryor, president and CEO of Scott & White, in the release.
Scott & White will proceed with plans to open a new children's hospital in Temple this fall and a new hospital in College Station in 2013, the release stated.
