Scripps Health, San Diego, appointed Dr. Jim LaBelle to the new post of corporate vice president of quality, physician co-management and medical management at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas (Calif.).
Scripps names LaBelle VP of quality
LaBelle, 54, previously was medical director of emergency and clinical quality at Scripps Memorial. In his new post, he will work with doctors to help coordinate inpatient and outpatient clinical care management and make sure doctors have input in the design and development of care, according to Scripps. He also will be in charge of quality, hospitalist and intensivist programs and medical directorships across the Scripps system.
The new post and LaBelle's appointment are products of an October 2010 management and leadership restructuring for Scripps.
LaBelle previously has served as president and CEO of Coastline Emergency Physicians in Dunedin, Fla., and vice president of Encinitas (Calif.) Hospitalist Associates.
