The federal share of the settlement is $90.95 million. In the states, Texas is due $24.4 million plus $5 million for legal expenses, Florida's share is $9 million, Kentucky will get $4.5 million, Alaska $900,000 and South Carolina $3.15 million. A law firm that represented Kentucky will be paid $1.6 million.
Ven-A-Care of the Florida Keys filed the initial complaint and will receive $9 million and its attorneys will get $5 million. Ven-A-Care is a prolific filer of False Claims Act lawsuits, and has taken on some of the biggest names in pharmaceuticals over the years.
