The Cigna Medical Group, the group-practice division of Cigna HealthCare of Arizona, will occupy an entire new three-story medical office on an 8-acre site in central Phoenix, according to an e-mailed news release from Clarius Partners, a Chicago-based commercial real-estate development management company.
Cigna docs to get new Phoenix building
The site is described as an "eyesore" that has been vacant since the September 2009 demolition of a 10-story building that had been located there. A property cleanup and groundbreaking are scheduled for October, and the 95,000-square-foot facility is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2012. No cost figures were released, but Clarius is seeking to achieve a silver rating in the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, program.
Cigna Medical Group has more than 200 doctors in 17 specialties practicing at more than 30 locations in Arizona's Maricopa County. It has been recognized as a medical home by the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
