Orlando (Fla.) Health has named Dr. Jamal Hakim its first chief quality/transformation physician.

Hakim, 49, will work with Orlando Health's board of directors, leadership and medical staff to help develop and implement the group's quality plan.
He previously held a variety of posts at Orlando Health, including chairman of the anesthesia department at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Orlando; chairman of the hospital’s leadership committee; vice chief of staff; and co-chairman of the quality strategy committee. Since 2007 he has been a member of Orlando Health's board.
