Adventist Health, Roseville, Calif., announced the appointment of Dr. David Wortham as senior vice president and chief medical officer at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Wortham also will be the regional executive vice president for the Adventist Health Physician Network. His responsibilities include improving communication, collaboration and establishing the clinical quality focus among the hospital's doctors, according to a news release (PDF).
Wortham previously served as senior vice president and CMO for Bright Health Physicians of Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier, Calif. He graduated from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and trained as an anesthesiologist. He did his residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago and at the University of California in San Diego. He earned an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a bachelor's degree in medical science from Northwestern University.
