H.D. Smith, a Springfield, Ill.-based pharmaceutical wholesaler, has named David Guzman chief information officer.
H.D. Smith names Guzman CIO
Guzman's responsibilities will include developing and implementing information technology initiatives that will serve to enhance customers' experience and improve H.D. Smith's supply-chain and cost-management systems.
Guzman, 55, joins H.D. Smith from Acxiom Corp., a Little Rock, Ark.-based provider of marketing and information management services, according to an H.D. Smith news release. At Acxiom, he served as chief information and technology officer. Guzman also has held CIO-level jobs with Owens & Minor and Office Depot. The CIO position is a new one at H.D. Smith, according to a company spokeswoman. H.D. Smith has distribution facilities in California, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Texas.
