Paula Wilson has been named president and CEO of Joint Commission Resources and Joint Commission International, the Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based affiliates of the Joint Commission. Wilson, 61, has been serving as interim chief executive since the June 2010 retirement of Karen Timmons.

According to a Joint Commission news release, a search committee deemed Wilson the best choice, and “Her appointment received a unanimous vote of approval from the Joint Commission Board of Commissioners and the strong support of the JCR Board.”
Joint Commission Resources is the publishing and education arm of the Joint Commission, while Joint Commission International carries on consulting, accreditation and educational activities in more than 60 countries, according to the news release.
Previously, Wilson operated her own New York-based consulting practice and taught at New York University. She has also worked as the vice president for policy at the United Hospital Fund.
