Mountain States Health Alliance, Johnson City, Tenn., and several partners have filed an application to participate in the CMS' Pioneer Accountable Care Organization program, according to a news release.
Mountain States, partners seek to join ACO program
Integrated Solutions Health Network filed the application for what will be called AnewCare Collaboration, according to the release. ISHN is an affiliate of Mountain States and also includes about 2,000 physicians, a range of post-acute care providers, pharmacies, laboratories and suppliers of durable medical equipment, orthotics and prosthetics. Mountain States is a 10-hospital system in northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia that also serves parts of Kentucky and North Carolina.
A leaked draft copy of the proposed Pioneer ACO regulation indicated that the program would allow steeper bonuses and losses for providers than originally expected. The Pioneer ACO program was introduced after providers were cool to the original, more complex ACO regulation.
