The longtime president and CEO of MedCentral Health System, Mansfield, Ohio, will retire next year.
James Meyer, 67, has spent 33 years with the health system, which announced his departure effective in May 2012. He has overseen the expansion of the system and has held the top leadership role at Mansfield General Hospital since 1985. Mansfield later merged with Shelby (Ohio) Memorial Hospital in 1996 to become MedCentral. Mansfield General employed 800 when Meyer began. MedCentral now employs 2,550.
