Eagle Hospital Physicians, Dallas, announced plans to acquire hospitalist management company Inpatient Management of St. Louis. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Eagle Hospital Physicians to buy Inpatient Management
According to an Eagle news release, Inpatient Management CEO Kirk Mathews will become Eagle's senior vice president of business development. Inpatient Management, which provides management and staffing of hospitalist departments, has 90 hospital-based physicians and 13 hospitalist practices, mainly in the Midwest and on the West Coast.
Last month, Eagle acquired PrimeDoc Management Services, a 100-physician hospitalist company with service bases in the mid-Atlantic and Southeast. With the two purchases, Eagle will have a presence in 17 states, according to the release.
Eagle was acquired in August 2010 by two private-equity firms, Flexpoint Ford and Highlander Partners, and has nearly doubled its staff physicians and clinical locations since then.
