OptumHealth, a business unit of UnitedHealth Group, has announced plans to acquire insurer-services provider Connextions for an undisclosed sum, pending customary transaction approvals.
OptumHealth to acquire Connextions
According to a news release from OptumHealth, the two firms will work together to design and implement health insurance exchange models “that match individuals and businesses with offerings that fit their needs.” OptumHealth, which offers population health-management services, is one of UnitedHealth’s three Optum businesses, along with health information- and analytics-focused OptumInsight and prescription services provider OptumRx.
The announcement from Minnetonka, Minn.-based OptumHealth said that Connextions will continue its operations in core locations including Orlando, Fla.; Charlotte and Concord, N.C.; Louisville, Colo.; and Jeffersonville, Ind.
