Rusty Yeager has been promoted to senior vice president and chief information officer for rehabilitation and long-term-care services provider HealthSouth, Birmingham, Ala., the company has announced. Yeager previously was deputy CIO, has been with the company for 10 years and in the healthcare IT industry for 20 years, according to a news release.
HealthSouth taps Yeager for CIO post
“Rusty has provided exceptional leadership in our information technology group and has played a key role in the development of the clinical information system we will be implementing in our hospitals beginning in 2012,” HealthSouth President and CEO Jay Grinney, said in the statement. As CIO, Grinney said, Yeager “will be responsible for all aspects of the company's information technology innovation, strategy, infrastructure and support.”
Yeager has a bachelor's degree in marketing from Texas A&M-Kingsville, a master's in business administration from the University of Texas-San Antonio and an executive certificate in management and leadership from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the company statement said.
