Dr. Mary Barton is leaving the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to join the National Committee for Quality Assurance as vice president for performance measurement.
Barton to leave AHRQ for NCQA
According to an NCQA news release, Barton is joining the Washington-based not-for-profit organization to oversee the development, use and maintenance of quality-evaluation techniques. She will also lead the NCQA's efforts in winning quality-measurement contracts with federal and state agencies.
Barton, a physician in primary-care internal medicine, previously worked as scientific director of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Before that, she was an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School. Her age was not provided.
