St. Luke's Health System, Kansas City, Mo., has hired Dr. Melinda Estes as its new CEO to replace G. Richard Hastings, who in January announced his plans to retire this summer, according to a news release.
St. Luke's hires Estes for CEO post
Estes, 58, is leaving her job as president and CEO of Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, Vt.; Estes started there in 2003. A board-certified neurologist and neuropathologist, Estes also served as CEO of Cleveland Clinic's Florida division from 2001-03.
Chuck Robb, COO and CFO, will serve as interim CEO after Hastings retires on July 31, according to the release. Estes is expected to take the helm of St. Luke's in September.
