Partners shifts two hospital execs
Bates, 54, most recently served as chief of the general internal-medicine and primary-care division at 773-bed Brigham and Women's in Boston, and he replaces Gustafson in the role of chief quality officer, according to a hospital spokesperson. Bates will report to President Dr. Elizabeth Nabel and the boards of the hospital itself and the Brigham and Women's Physicians Organization. The promotion is effective July 1.
Gustafson, 47, will report to Nabel and to Brigham and Women's COO Mairead Hickey when he starts in his position July 18. Faulkner Hospital is a 115-bed hospital in Boston.
Last month, Partners named Dr. Stanley Ashley and Dr. O'Neil Britton chief medical officer at Brigham and Women's and Faulkner, respectively.
