West Penn Allegheny Health System has named Dianne Dismukes to be executive vice president of hospital operations, effective immediately. Dismukes succeeds Dawn Gideon, a spokesman said. Gideon joined West Penn Allegheny in April 2008 from the Huron Consulting Group. Gideon resigned in October 2010, a West Penn spokesman said in an e-mail.

Dismukes was partner in charge for PricewaterhouseCoopers’ work at West Penn Allegheny and oversaw consolidation of its Allegheny General Hospital and West Penn Hospital, according to a news release. The struggling Pittsburgh-based system has launched turnaround plans that consolidate its Pittsburgh hospitals. Dismukes’ age was unavailable at deadline.
Before joining West Penn Allegheny, Dismukes she led the operational, clinical and nonlabor operational improvement practices at PricewaterhouseCoopers U.S. Healthcare Advisory Practice.
