Partners HealthCare, a Boston-based 12-hospital system, announced that Dr. Stanley Ashley has been named chief medical officer at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Dr. O'Neil Britton has been tapped as Faulkner Hospital's CMO.
Partners names two hospital CMOs
Ashley has served as vice chairman of the surgery department and program director of the general surgery residency at 773-bed Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, since 1997, according to a news release. Britton currently is the vice president of professional services and associate chief of medicine at Faulkner Hospital, a 115-bed hospital also based in Boston, and a vice chairman of medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Ashley will replace Dr. Andy Whittemore and Britton will replace Dr. Stephen Wright, both of whom are retiring, according to a Partners spokesperson. They will report to Dr. Elizabeth Nabel, president of Brigham and Women's and Faulkner hospitals.
The appointments are effective June 1. Ashley's and Britton's ages were unavailable at deadline.
