Gail F. Donovan is the Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer at Continuum Health Partners, Inc. appointed in December 2001. Her responsibilities include the administrative oversight for operating functions and corporate services at Beth Israel Medical Center's Petrie, Kings Highway Divisions, St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital, Long Island College Hospital and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Ms. Donovan also held the position of Interim President and Chief Executive Officer from January through June 2003. Prior to this position, Ms. Donovan was the Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer for Beth Israel Medical Center and St. Luke's Hospital Center (2000-2001), Executive Vice President, COO of Beth Israel Medical Center (1994-2003), Senior Vice President for Operations (1990-1994) and Vice President for Operations at the North Division of Beth Israel from 1988 through mid 1990. She began her employment at Beth Israel in September 1986, as Associate Director for Operations.
Prior to joining Beth Israel, she held several progressively responsible positions at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn from 1984 to 1986. She completed an administrative internship at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Staten Island in 1983.
Ms. Donovan has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Villanova University, PA and a Masters Degree in Health Service Administration from George Washington University. She is active as a Board member of Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA), with the Hospital Association of New York State (HANYS) and the American Hospital Association (AHA). She is past President of the Metropolitan Health Administrators Association (MAHA), a member of the Healthcare Executive Forum (HCEF) as well as other professional organizations. She lives in New Jersey with her husband and two children.
