Health information management services company Precyse has named Chris Powell president. The position is new, according to a news release from the company, which has corporate offices in Wayne, Pa., and Alpharetta, Ga.; its creation coincides with the company's launch of precyseCode, a health information management platform that incorporates voice recognition.

Powell, 46, most recently served as vice president and general manager of GE Healthcare's commercial healthcare IT business, Americas division. Before that, he spent 14 years at healthcare IT vendor IDX Systems Corp., most recently as the company's senior vice president of sales. GE acquired IDX in 2005.
Powell will report to Jeffrey Levitt, Precyse's founder, chairman and CEO, a spokeswoman said.
