The Federal Trade Commission cleared Endo Pharmaceuticals to move forward with its $2.9 billion acquisition of American Medical Systems.
FTC lets Endo-AMS deal proceed
The FTC granted the deal early termination under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act in a filing (PDF) dated May 3.
Endo, based in Chadds Ford, Pa., had said the acquisition of the Minnetonka, Minn.-based medical device company will bolster its urology portfolio. It is the company’s fourth acquisition in the past year. An Endo spokesperson said that the company expects the deal to close in the third quarter.
