Valinda Rutledge, president and CEO of CaroMont Health, Gastonia, N.C., has accepted a senior leadership post at the CMS' Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation. Rutledge, 56, will be director of the center's patient-care models group, according to a CaroMont news release.
Rutledge assumed the top spot at CaroMont in 2009. Prior to that, she was CEO of Bon Secours St. Francis Health System, Greenville, S.C. While at CaroMont, she has led various quality-improvement initiatives and has overseen the hospital's implementation of an accountable-care model.
The CMS Innovation Center is charged with identifying, testing and implementing new models of payment and care delivery that improve quality and lower healthcare costs.
