Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Mo.) has hired a new chief medical officer, Dr. Blake Williamson, according to a news release from the Blues plan.
Kansas City Blues hires new CMO
Williamson, 61, has worked for the Kansas City Blues for more than 13 years, most recently as the health plan's senior medical director and vice president, according to a KC Blues spokeswoman. In his new role, he will help the health plan navigate healthcare reform, among other duties, according to the release.
His experience prior to joining the health plan includes time spent as a hospital system executive in Oregon and as a consultant to Milliman, the actuarial and consulting firm that produces the Milliman set of admission criteria among other products.
