The first stretch of an information highway that lets Syracuse hospitals swap electronic patient records is open for business after more than five years of planning. HealtheConnections, the group operating the health information exchange, announced Monday that Community General, Crouse, St. Joseph's and Upstate University hospitals as well as the Laboratory Alliance of Central New York are connected to the new digital network.
