Dr. Jeffrey Litwin will succeed Michael McKelvey as president and CEO of eResearch Technology, a Philadelphia-based medical-device and clinical research services company. McKelvey held the post for more than four years and announced his retirement in September 2010.
Litwin, who is a board-certified cardiologist, has been with ERT for more than decade, most recently serving as the company's executive vice president and chief medical officer. During that time, Litwin led ERT's implementation of a digital operating system and oversaw the company's consulting business, according to an ERT news release.
The decision to appoint Litwin came after a thorough national search, Dr. Joel Morganroth, ERT's chief scientific officer and interim president and CEO, said in the release. “Jeff brings to ERT knowledge of the clinical research domain, that is our core business, and also experience in the adjacent markets of Phase IV safety surveillance and healthcare in which ERT's assets will be employed,” Morganroth said.
Litwin's age was not available at deadline.
