The Federal Trade Commission has scheduled a public meeting for May 9 to bring stakeholders together for a discussion of how federal regulators will enforce the proposed rules on accountable care organizations.
FTC slates hearing on regulation of ACOs
Regulators are soliciting public comment on Medicare ACO proposed regulations, which were jointly released by the FTC and the Justice Department on March 31. ACOs seek to encourage collaboration and create efficiencies among hospitals, physicians and payers, and the proposed regulations would waive restrictions on anti-competitive behavior in certain circumstances for ACOs.
The FTC workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 9 at the commission’s conference center, 601 New Jersey Ave. NW, in Washington. The event will also be broadcast on the FTC’s website.
