GE Healthcare, Waukesha, Wis., will acquire Applied Precision, an Issaquah, Wash.-based cellular imaging company, according to a GE news release. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
GE Healthcare to buy Applied Precision
Applied Precision, founded in 1986, develops and manufactures super-resolution and high-resolution imaging instruments as well as software and other tools used to support life-sciences research and drug discovery, according to the company's website.
GE Healthcare stated in the news release that the acquisition will help the company "expand its offering of products and services for pharmaceutical and life-science research."
The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2011.
