A Kentucky-based health system, a national surgical-center chain and a physicians group have entered into an agreement to operate two Kentucky surgery centers.

Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare, Birmingham, Ala.-based Surgical Care Affiliates and the physician partners of Surgecenter of Louisville and Premier Surgery Center will own and run the two Louisville centers, according to an SCA news release . Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Not-for-profit Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's has purchased an interest in the general partnership that operates the centers, which will continue to be managed by for-profit SCA, according to the release. The centers are used by more than 50 physicians in ENT/otolaryngology, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, plastics and other specialties.
