The U.S. Defense Department has awarded Lenexa, Kan.-based Mediware a contract for use of the company's blood-transfusion management software system at 68 Military Health System sites.
Defense Department awards Mediware contract for transfusion software system
The Web-enabled HCLL Transfusion system will let MHS sites exchange patient data and blood-product inventory information, according to a Mediware news release. Mediware also recently received a Defense Department contract to manage blood-product inventories and track blood-donor records for 28 MHS facilities. The value of the contracts was undisclosed.
