John Gomez, chief technology officer and executive vice president at electronic health-record systems provider Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, will resign from the company May 31, according to Allscripts. He will remain a consultant for 18 months after that while pursuing other personal and professional interests, according to the company.
Gomez to resign as Allscripts chief tech officer
At least one credit analyst took a dim view of the departure, which Chicago-based Allscripts disclosed in an 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
In an update on Allscripts, Arlington, Va.-based FBR Capital Markets said, "We view this development as a net negative for the company as we are unsure the company can fill Mr. Gomez's shoes with an internal candidate and may need to go outside the organization to find his replacement, which could be a costly and time-consuming process."
