Charles Sandefur will become VP of mission and community development, starting in June. In this newly created position, Sandefur, 64, will report to Rawson and oversee outreach, chaplaincy and foundations, among other duties. Sandefur was most recently president and CEO of the international Adventist Development and Relief Agency, a not-for-profit global humanitarian mission, a post he held for the past eight years.
Adventist Health also announced that Doug Lafferty, facility development VP, will leave the organization in May due to an alignment of business development and facilities development. Lafferty, whose age was not released, spent 38 years at Adventist Health, including as president and CEO of San Joaquin Community Hospital in Bakersfield, Calif.
