CareSouth’s four locations are in Southern California and San Jose, Calif. The assets had revenues of $11 million in fiscal 2010, according to a news release.
“This transaction is another example of how we are expanding our post-acute continuum of service lines in local markets to meet patient needs,” said Paul Diaz, president and CEO of Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred, in a statement.
Kindred has 13 long-term acute-care hospitals, two nursing and rehab centers and one subacute unit in the California CareSouth service regions.
CareSouth said in a news release that the sale will allow it to focus on expansion in the South and Mid-Atlantic regions.
