Two hospitals in Chicago's western suburbs have completed a merger that was first announced in October, according to a news release.
Two Illinois hospitals complete merger
The still-to-be-named health system includes two hospitals—337-bed Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, Ill., and 159-bed Delnor Hospital, Geneva, Ill. The hospitals will retain those names. The system will be governed by a 20-member board consisting of 10 directors from each hospital. Each hospital will maintain its own charitable foundation.
Central DuPage’s president and CEO, Luke McGuinness, has been named CEO of the new system. Thomas Wright, president and CEO of Delnor, will continue as president of the hospital and add the title of executive vice president of the system. Michael Vivoda is the new president of Central DuPage and also is an executive vice president of the system. Two other Central DuPage executives, Jim Spear and Liz Rosenberg, will serve as CFO and executive vice president of strategy and administration, respectively, for the system.
