The institute was recognized for its Healthy Communities Network, which helps local officials and private organizations meet benchmarks for the national Healthy People 2020 initiative. HCI customers include Arizona and Hawaii and several counties nationwide.
The HCI's Web-based systems now reach more than 25 million people nationally, according to the group. The network includes a dashboard of more than 100 local health and quality-of-life indicators designed to, for example, help communities conduct health-needs assessments.
