Dr. Randy Fagin, an Austin, Texas-based urologist, will be the chief administrative officer of the new Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery at St. David's North Austin Medical Center.
Fagin to direct robotic-surgery center
St. David's HealthCare system, Austin, established the institute with the aim of providing a training ground for doctors involved in robotic-assisted surgery. The institute will feature the Robotic Institute University, which St. David's described in a news release as an "educational epicenter" that will teach best practices in robotic-assisted surgery. Classes at the university are expected to start this summer.
Fagin, a former professional magician, practices with the Prostate Center of Austin, part of the Urology Team, also in Austin.
