Nashville-based HCA's proposed acquisition of a Miami hospital has cleared antitrust review by the Federal Trade Commission, according to an FTC news release.
HCA gets green light on Miami hospital deal
The FTC granted so-called early termination status yesterday to HCA’s deal to acquire 473-bed Mercy Hospital from Catholic Health East under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act, a move that was announced Tuesday.
If the deal is completed, Mercy Hospital would continue to follow Catholic religious and ethical directives. The hospital would become part of HCA’s 12-hospital East Florida division. The division includes nine hospitals in Broward, Dade and Palm Beach counties, which make up greater Miami.
